I used the Apple // a lot in my formative years. One of the wackier Apple software development houses was Beagle Brothers, who produced a combination of utilities, games, and crazy demo disks. As I was browsing the Beagle Brothers online museum, I was struck by the simple, clear ethos expressed in this image:
That neatly sums up my experience with Beagle Brothers software. It expresses the sheer joy of playing with the machine, an artifact of an earlier era of computing.
I think it also serves as valuable remember today: this stuff is supposed to be fun. When was the last time you could say that about software you've used? Software you've written?
It's just "Beagle Bros" (no period), not "Brothers".
