The much-anticipated VS.NET 2005 Beta 2 with "go live*" license has arrived:
The bits available on MSDN are Visual Studio 2005 x Beta 2, where x is...
plus our old buddy Visual SourceSafe 2005 Beta 2.
I was surprised that Professional wasn't available, but "Team Suite" seems to be a superset of Professional. I recommend visiting the Visual Studio 2005 Product Line Overview to keep this stuff straight.
I just noticed the Visual Studio Express Editions have been updated to Beta 2. If you don't have access to MSDN and you want the "real" Standard or Professional editions of VS.NET 2005, you can also order it from Microsoft via snail mail. Should there be torrents for the betas? Probably, but given the rabid cease-and-desist Microsoft exerted on this site distributing XP SP2-- and that's a free public safety upgrade-- I doubt we'll be seeing a torrent of VS.NET 2005 beta any time soon.
* Microsoft formally supports transitioning beta 2 code into production, so you can theoretically start developing real world apps with this now.

Ok, how about posting a torrent, so that the rest of us can debug it too.
Seeding is not a problem. The problem is that you can be tracked down and threatened by Microsoft. Regardless of what you hear it is very easy to find out who you are when you use BitTorrent or any (OK, most of) other P2P app out there.
It's not worth the truble, even though this would be a great test for my C# BitTorrent app and server ;)
